The dunk tank was the most popular attraction at the Friday Carnival held at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) branch in downtown Southampton.
The Carnival was a cancer benefit fundraiser, part of the “Run the Cure”, on behalf of Conchita Easton and was organized by CIBC employee Donna Beechey.
Among the celebrities who went into the dunk tank were Saugeen Shores Mayor Mike Smith, popular DJ, Joe Carter, from 98 the Beach Radio and local police officer, Doug Liens, who went in fully clothed.
In addition to the popular dunking, there was face-painting and a BBQ with all proceeds going toward the “Run for the Cure”.

If you have a dog, or a cat, or a rabbit (we aren’t fussy) we encourage you to being them out to our SPECIAL EVENT where they can STRUT THEIR STUFF…..in PINK! We hope to cause accidents on the Hanlon Pkwy. (well, not really)..but we hope to turn heads while we fill the leash free park with pink pups! Hope you will join us. . We know all you dog owners (like me) are all a little crazy and will do anything for our loyal companions. We have also received Team Captain buttons & lots of promotional supplies for your team to assist you with your fundraising. Come out, come out, wherever you are……………..when was the last time someone told you they missed you, that you were exceptional, wonderful, and that you make a difference? Well, I’m here to tell you all that. I know you are one of those “Special” people we meet in our lives. And I am special too! We are special because we care about breast cancer. It is because of you, and many others…… that so many people are surviving breast cancer. It is because of the money your team raises, that we are losing fewer loved ones. If you have not signed up for Run For The Cure yet, you are missing out on a special opportunity! Join us in unity….to put smiles on peoples faces, put money into research and walk/run in solidarity.
Pssssssssssss If you’ve already signed up…………………pass the word along!
